DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Sent a slick sales guy, Tyler Ricks to my home who undercut my other bids and told me they would pack me 4/10, move me 4/11, and unpack me 4/12. Been waiting on a promised refund check for two weeks now. Do yourself a favor and go with someone else! I don't know how they stay in business.

Do Not Use this Company

What an awful experience. Moved from CO to AZ and they damaged over 30% of my belongings. Marcus made many promises he did not keep and actually took a switch to one of my items that he promised to replace and then refused to bring it back. Many of my items didn't make it on the truck and I am still waiting for them to get those items to me - hopefully they won't be damaged as well. There is no follow through- and they haven't taken responsiblity for the out of state movers they contracted with. Additionally, they promised the things they took apart would be labeled and used to reinstall - that didn't happen and I still have items missing parts.

Additionally, their in-state movers put a huge amount of pressure on you to immediately post a review in front of them. I did so as one of their in-state movers was very good but with the understanding they would make it right for the mess they made. This didn't happen.

Lastly, don't be fooled by them promising other services to make up for the damage they caused. They sent 2 people to hang photos - the installers asked me to buy them dinner, took a really long break and took 3x the amount of time as normal installers and then I'm told by Marcus that he is deducting their cost from any claims. Additionally, they promised to return and touch up paint any damage but did not return. They also said they would have all the items needed to hang the photos but they were unprepared and charged me for 2 hrs to go to home depot and buy supplies.

In-state move.

My move was from out of Copperstate's usual service area, but they obliged me and drove the extra distance.  They did a very professional job, packed everything in the location order I needed for it to come out of the truck, and followed me to the new house.  They unloaded and moved everything according to my directions (house, container, shed, etc.).  They were on time, clean, friendly, helpful, and efficient.  I was very pleased and would recommend them to everyone.  Their prices were competitive with others I checked--neither the cheapest nor the most expensive--and Copperstate had "A" BBB rating.

Please Look Elsewhere

I can only assume the quality of Copperstate Moving is going downhill from its earlier days. I decided to go with them because someone mentioned their name in passing. Big mistake. They plaster on the side of their trucks “affordable” but my experience of them providing affordability? Anything but. In fact, they were the least affordable moving company I’ve ever used in my ENTIRE life.

This company charged me nearly $85 just for using my credit card – a fee they neglected to tell me about in advance, of course, despite the fact I spoke with them on several occasions. Also, if your move ends 15 min past the hour, be prepared to pay for the entire hour. Example: if your move ends at 8:17 pm, be ready to fork over money for the other 43 minutes in which the movers have completed the move and left. This amounts to an added $120 (given their rate of $165/hour). An extra $120 for work they didn’t do!! There’s a ton of things I could use that money for besides paying someone for work that wasn’t done. Can’t you?

Look for companies that don’t tack on added costs at the end of your move. Their fees cost me an added $205. Flat-rate movers are out there, and it pays to make the effort to find them or outright request a flat-rate. I will be doing so in the future.

Here’s the final eye-opener: when they moved me, I actually had less furniture, having gotten rid of a number of items, including a patio couch, 4-drawer file cabinet, dining room table, 4 large boxes, folding table, indoor bench, office chair, bistro set, and outdoor 4-pc patio dining set. Yet, it cost me MORE money with this company, not the SAME or LESS. Un-freaking-believable!

Companies who get poor reviews are quick to sprout an online, “I’m sorry to learn that…please contact me…” for the public view, but behind the scenes, they do little, if anything at all, to resolve the customer’s angst. Unhappy customers the world over already know exactly what I’m talking about. Also, this company marred the walls in two different places that I’ll be responsible for patching and repainting—at my expense.

Do yourself a good service, find another moving company than these folks.

Worst Move of my life

Avoid this company at all costs! I have moved between states 4 times in my life. This was the worst moving experience ever. The movers were careless in the way they stored my items as well as in packing the truck. They lost 4 boxes and one very expensive piece of furniture. Additionally, they lost furniture parts and could not reassemble a desk. Many boxes including durable plastic storage bins arrived crushed due to improper packing on the truck. In total they lost or broke roughly 5000 dollars worth of goods. I also found them to be unprofessional and caught them in several lies. First, when I tried to have my items delivered I was told repeatedly it was being worked on and scheduled, only to find out 1 week from the move date that it had not been added to the system at all. Additionally, when they lost items they initially yelled at me and told me it was impossible for the to lose items. Only after talking with them for about a month did they decide to look at which point they found 1 office chair and 3 boxes (none of which were actually mine so clearly they are losing other folks items often). They told me several times that the chair had been shipped but when asked to provide proof admitted they had not actually sent it. They did ultimately send the chair about 2 weeks after they found it and about a 1 week after they lied and send it had already been sent.

I paid almost 700 dollars to have full valuation of my belongings. Only after the move when attempting to reach a settlement with Copperstate did they inform me they use a 3rd party company (CSI) to settle all claims. The website is horrible and despite working for an hour, I have not even made it through the registration process. Before you hire Copperstate be sure to read the horrible reviews for CSI, an arbitration company that is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau. (Every other mover I have ever hired has immediately, within about 48 hours, offered a settlement for any damaged items even when I didn't have full valuation because they owned their mistakes and wanted to do the right thing.) Be warned you might be hiring a local family owned business but the minute you have an issue with the move they take no personal responsibility, do not seek to make things right, and force you to deal with a national 3rd party website that will just result in frustration and headache. It has been almost 2 months since I moved and I am still attempting to reach a settlement with Copperstate for their errors and will update this review if a resolution it reached.

Unethical Crooks !!

These guys underestimated the cost of our local move by over 40%. They damaged good and refused to cover ANY damages even after photos were submitted. I would urge others to stay away from Copperstate Movers.
